Our Story
Chabad of Gerritsen Beach was established in 2023, to serve the Jewish community of Brooklyn. Chabad of Gerritsen Beach is a place where everyone is welcome, regardless of affiliation or prior level of knowledge. Its sole purpose is to create a warm, welcoming environment to explore and experience Judaism's warm and relevant spiritual inspirations in a non-judgmental and inviting atmosphere.
Since its inception, Chabad of Gerritsen Beach strives to meet the needs of the community with religious services, and social events, as well as an array of programming including: Adult education (Torah classes), Bar and Bat Mitzvah lessons, Jewish kids club, hospital visits, Jewish outreach, Holiday programs and a welcoming home for all your Jewish needs!
Chabad of Gerritsen Beach is a local, independent and financially self-supporting entity. Every dollar that we receive comes from the generosity of people like you. We are a 501(c)(3) organization and your donations are fully tax deductible.
Meet the Mann's
Rabbi Mende and Bracha Mann moved to Brooklyn and founded Chabad of Gerritsen Beach in 2023.
Prior to moving to Brooklyn, Rabbi Mann grew up in Toronto before pursuing studies in Jewish thought and practice in Toronto and Manchester, and received his rabbinical ordination in here in Brooklyn. His infectious optimism and joyful personality drives his commitment and dedication to his community.
Bracha was born and raised in Las Angeles CA and is a passionate educator, teaching classes for women, as well as educating her own two children. She also has exquisite taste which shines through all the events at Chabad she plans.
